Ever since our little lady came along Shugborough Hall has become one of our favourite places to explore. Situated in a river valley in the heart of Staffordshire, Shugborough’s location is decidedly magical and is certainly one of our recommended places to visit with your family!
This Friday, 13th March, sees Shugborough Hall opens its doors for 2015 and we can’t wait to renew our family season pass.
Expert guides will welcome you into the Shugborough mansion house and are always on hand to tell the fascinating stories that lie behind the fine collections of porcelain and French furniture.
Enjoy a super time at the Georgian Park Farm, with regular demonstrations from the living history characters in the Mill and Dairy, plus lots of animals to meet. The farm also features a play park, numerous exhibits, and a children’s interactive learning gallery. My favourite feature has to be the magnificent working wood fired brewhouse, still brewing beer on occasions today.
Our recommended things not to miss at Shugborough!
- The Georgian Mansion House
- Take some pictures in the riverside gardens
- Stroll through the island Arboretum
- Explore the working Servants’ Quarters
- Walk around the 350-year-old yew tree
- Enjoy the Private Apartments of Patrick Lichfield
- Step back in time at the working Farm
If you are thinking about visiting why not pop along this Sunday when moms go free!
