What with our love for exploring the great outdoors accompanied by Rosco, the Labrador puppy, and Xanthe’s growing fondness to walk rather than ride in the comfort of her pushchair, we have been on the lookout for something that is more robust when it comes to reins. The Trunki ToddlePak Fuss-free toddler reins offer just what were after. These little beauties offer something different to cautious parents and the keen explorer toddler.
Comprising of a super cute body pack decorated with a teddy face, the rein pack fits easily from the front and with a sturdy easy fix clip at the back. Unlike other offers on the market, these reins aren’t a flimsy suspension kit. As the body pack is formed much like a safety vest, it fits comfortably around the shape of your little one meaning that the straps won’t slide off the shoulders – a problem we’ve encountered with previous styles. The body piece is made from a lightweight fabric which won’t create overheating in the summer but is strong enough to ensure safety.
The beauty of the Trunki toddler reins is that they are dual purpose. If you are looking for something to support your early walker in their first stages, then these will get them on the move and provide you with peace of mind. We are fortunate enough to have arrived in the ‘I can walk without you hovering over me just in case I wobble stage’ which places us firmly in the ‘Yes, I know you can walk but I’ll hover like a shadow just behind you stage’ so we need something that allows our little lady to enjoy her independence. The Trunki reins come with a leading rein whereby your adventuring toddler can explore without the sensation of being tethered (something else we disliked about our former set of reins) and this was incredibly useful to us on this morning’s adventure as she roamed the lawns of Shugborough Hall exploring.
The highlights of these reins so far for us have been the ease with which we were able to adjust them, the hearty fit of the body pack and their charming appearance, which is obviously important in the world of an trendy adventurer!!
