Review: Diono Dreamliner Travel Bassinet

Dreamliner Travel Bassinet - View From A Daddy

We had the pleasure of trying out the Diono Dreamliner when we recently took our first family holiday with our baby who was two weeks old. I was a little apprehensive about how our baby would sleep away from home. The early days are tough but with new surroundings they can be even more tricky. However, with the Diono Dreamliner there were no problems and sleep was no big issue at all! We love the Diono Dreamliner, which offers the security of a cocoon-like space that a moses basket provides but also enough space for your little one to grow into. This travel bassinet is suitable from birth to 15lbs so it will provide you with a sleep solution for some time. We have plans to use it in the transition from the moses basket to the ‘big’ cot when the time comes.

Diono Dreamliner - View From A DaddyThe Diono Dreamliner is super light and fantastically (unlike other travel cots) comes ready assembled. You simply have to adjust the legs on the strong frame into place. There’s no tricky manoeuvring that leaves you looking like someone with the dexterity of an octopus. O no, this is far more simple. Once you have popped it out of the box, it’s ready to go. The bassinet is flat pack making it easy to store and transport during any journey. Again, this is of great appeal and allows the Diono Dreamliner to stand out from its counterparts. It has its own storage case with generous carry handle again enabling portability and it comes in an appealing grey which will help with maintaining its aesthetic journey after journey.

Our little one settled very well in the travel cot feeling contented throughout the night. The Diono Dreamliner comes with a premium mattress at 30mm in thickness that is suitable for home or away.  We added our own sheet to provide the home from home experience. The deep sides of the bassinet are reassuring. Not only do they offer safety but with mesh panels you can easily view your baby from the sides. This allows for air to circulate providing breathability. Our little one can settle in dim light but one of the appeals of this great product is that it comes with an adjustable multi position hood and, this is removable so whatever specifics you need this cot provides it.

With a built-in insect net, the Diono Dreamliner also provides an excellent solution for resting with baby when outdoors during the summer or simply when in hotter climes. This will be great for the long summer days (crosses fingers in hope) when playing outdoors with bigger View From a Daddy and with the directional hood, shade will be guaranteed.

In summary, this is gem. It’s small enough to pack away in the car for travel and store when you await the next break. It offers longevity as your baby grows and needs more space whilst also offering the comfort that a baby needs. It’s easy to clean and offers safety and protection. We love it and it’s on our essentials kit list for our next overnight adventure.

I’ve just bought one of these and can’t wait for it to arrive.. All the reviews I’ve seen have been very good, and I love the fact it folds into a bag quite easily. I’d love to say that it’ll come in handy when we are out and about, here there and everywhere with our second baby, but who am I trying to kid – we intend to make it as far as the garden!
Thanks for sharing the review – it’s really helped reassure me that I’ve spent our money wisely. Just wondering, did you buy a special sheet for the mattress, and if so, what size?

Hi Sophia, you won’t be disappointed with the Dreamliner! We just used a flat sheet for the mattress.
